This painting was created during a 10-week painting trip to Alaska in the summer of 2018. The piece is a direct reflection of my emotions during that opportunity; I felt free and open to the energy around me. This piece unfolded as I allowed myself to get in touch with my raw emotions.

Getting to Know Peg

Peg Belcastro paints non-objective expressionist pieces using vivid colors and energetic lines. She is inspired by the lush forests and valleys that surround her home in rural Pennsylvania, as well as by the vibrant Alaskan wilderness where she paints every summer. Working intuitively as she paints, she responds to each gestural brushstroke with the next one, allowing every painting to follow its own path to completion. Peg enjoys the elements of surprise in her art, and she hopes that her work will be appreciated for the process as well as for the finished piece.
