Raven Couple
About this artwork
Common Ravens are a friendly lot, hanging around in large groups at an abundant food source or pairing off to wander as a couple, explains artist Emil Morhardt. These two were gazing at sunset alone together when I spotted them. Painted over a gray background wash, in blacks, browns, purples, and magentas that conjure the iridescence of their plumage, along with golden yellow sunlight striking their heads and tail feathers.
