Artwork

Artist Amanda Dagg paints a cluster of bright red poppies on a cool gray and silver background. "The flowers represent joy on a cold winter day," says Amanda. The blossoms rise to the light, showing strength and fortitude. She creates them with thick paintwork, giving the blooms a luscious texture. "I hope the painting brings a smile to the viewer."

Amanda Dagg

Penticton, Canada

Artist Amanda Dagg paints richly textured landscapes brimming with colorful flowers. "I want people to feel a bit of joy, happiness or love, and a sentiment of peace and stillness when viewing my art," says Amanda. At the age of 10, a family friend taught her how to paint using a palette knife. Later in school, her art teacher guided her on how to meditate before drawing and painting. However, it wasn’t until pursuing evening art classes as an adult that Amanda was encouraged to become a professional artist. "My tutor believed in me before I believed in myself," she remembers. At the time, Amanda had four small children and wasn't able to develop relationships with local galleries, so she began showing her work online. She painted prolifically and soon made connections around the world. Today, she's sold over 3,000 paintings online and in galleries. Her patrons include private collectors, nightclubs, churches, and restaurants, and even a Premier League football player. When she's not painting, she loves spending time in nature, camping, kayaking and bird watching.
