My painting, "Pilar, After the Night Storm," captures a quiet moment, as the clouds disperse from the rare interval of rain in this high desert canyon.

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished sides, and is wired and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Jakki

Jakki Kouffman manipulates paint in much the same way the the whirling desert wind shapes the land around her. The Sante Fe landscape painter integrates Fauvist accents with a great eye for color, all of which shepherds the viewer toward a vivid daydream of howling New Mexico winds. Her long-term series of acrylics is called “Rivers, Mountains and Sea,” and it portrays the idea of resistance and change in the land through bold colors, striking textures and sweeping gestures.
