Artwork

Artist John Diehl creates a sharp diagonal division that cleaves the subject into two distinctive halves. The upper portion features a solid white trapezoid, while the lower part is a hollow red triangle sharply outlined in white. Against a crimson backdrop, the simple elements in this composition offer a striking visual contrast and provide the viewer with a point of contemplation. While its elegance is apparent from a distance, a closer inspection reveals subtle pencil lines and intimate traces of the human touch. "These are my marks as a human being entering the Posthuman Era," says John. This is a composition with a bold statement about the persisting significance of human agency and creativity in a world of technological innovations.

John Diehl

Middleboro, Massachusetts

Artist John Diehl creates large minimalist paintings of equilateral triangles. His practice is a seamless fusion of traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge innovation. "I craft my canvases using advanced materials and collaborate with artificial intelligence to generate images inspired by my physical work," shares John. His artistic practice embodies the essence of the posthuman era and blurs the lines between human creativity and technology. John completed his B.A. in Graphic Design in Massachusetts in 2005 and continued his studies at the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Florence, Italy. He started selling his work online in 2007 and managed his own art gallery three years later. His studio, which he purchased from one of his collectors, stands on a 16-acre estate in New England and features a private 3-acre exhibition park. It also serves as a home for families of deer and wild turkeys. When he is not painting, he spends time with his wife and dog, plays the piano, cooks the best carbonara, and explores the outdoors.
