I created this abstract in a color palette of ice blue, charcoal and white. It is part of my "GeoHorizon" series, a collection of minimalist landscapes that focus on imaginary slices of earth.
Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth's layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
