This painting is one of my favorites from a series of works I did in 2016. A lot of gestural brushstrokes and beautiful colors compliment this piece with the right amount of fine charcoal line work. The title came to me when I had completed the painting one night after being out with friends. I love the olives in martinis so much that I decided that my friend's glass had way more than he would consume. Couldn't let those go to waste so they went into mine... hence the title.

Getting to Know Jeffrey

Jeffrey Tover is an abstract artist based in the Bay Area who creates paintings that are colorful, multilayered, and gestural. The haphazardness of the marks in his compositions engage the viewer’s eye as it moves through every inch of the canvas. His work is greatly influenced by expressionist painters Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell and Willem de Kooning, and shares similar gestural qualities to their work. Through his art, Jeffrey strives to achieve uniqueness in each painting; every piece takes on its own individual persona and influences his viewers in different ways.
