Getting to Know Courtney

Courtney Jacobs creates what she calls a “personal language” through her use of color, texture, composition and action. “If the painting inspires you, or sets a particular mood, or makes you feel free and playful, then I have accomplished my job,” she says. She enjoys listening to a wide variety of music while she paints, from Richard Wagner to Nine Inch Nails. The Abstract Expressionism movement and action painters greatly influenced her work. During her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and singing. She currently lives in California. Fun fact: she owns a trunk full of costumes.
