"Night Ride" was created when I had my studio in my garage a few years ago. It is one of my favorites! I used pumice gel in the production of this painting to create texture. The light truly affects this painting as it moves. The name came from my experience flying from west to east at night and seeing the clouds and small lights below me against the moonlight. Just stunning!

Getting to Know Jeffrey

Jeffrey Tover is an abstract artist based in the Bay Area who creates paintings that are colorful, multilayered, and gestural. The haphazardness of the marks in his compositions engage the viewer’s eye as it moves through every inch of the canvas. His work is greatly influenced by expressionist painters Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell and Willem de Kooning, and shares similar gestural qualities to their work. Through his art, Jeffrey strives to achieve uniqueness in each painting; every piece takes on its own individual persona and influences his viewers in different ways.
