Mother and child is a recurring theme in my work. It is a reflection of the powerful and fulfilling relationship I have with being a mother. While the time children spend in the womb is of course very short in real time, it remains a very deep and visceral emotional and body memory for me. I think the vivid color represents the intensity of that connection and my deep desire to sustain a closeness with my children even as they separate and establish independent lives.
