Fog changes the ocean landscape on my early morning walks along the beach.  Shafts of light intersperse vibrant colors into the misty whites of fog. I created this painting with multiple pours of transparent and saturated acrylic on canvas to achieve its layered depth.

Getting to Know Dorothy

From childhood on, Dorothy was always eager about painting. Her grandfather encouraged her to graduate from a finger-painting enthusiast to a more mature and serious artist. Dorothy’s approach to her abstract artwork entails pouring paint in transparent layers to create sweeping colors across the canvas. Regardless, she manages to stay true to her childhood roots: “To this day, my clothes and hands always reflect the colors I am working with,” says Dorothy. “And I once again rediscovered the joys of finger-painting with my children!”
