Pink color-blocked sheep tumble out of space on a mint background. They each look ahead to the viewer. Part of Lesli DeVito's long running series of sheep, pairing these gentle animals with clever titles to represent human thoughts and groups. Of this painting, Lesli says, "What exactly is a Mint Julep? All I know is that the name conjures up images of dainty ladies in frilly dresses reclining on chaise loungers on covered front porches in the hot and humid southern summer air, sipping on a glass, dripping with condensation and full of clinking ices cubes and a delicious mint. I probably couldn't be further from the truth, but I like the image."

Getting to Know Lesli

Lesli Devito can't quite remember when she started painting, just that she's been doing it for quite a while now. With no formal training, Lesli took her own path and experimented with different types of paint. Eventually, she settled on something unconventional: acrylic house paint. She hopes that her works will "take people to their happy place." Lesli also created a blog called My Old Country House in which she writes about her life, art and other adventures.
