In the spring and summer I really enjoy gardening! This year I have been painting the pansies I planted, and we have many lady bugs which are so beneficial to the garden. I painted this from observations in my yard. The one flower is a microcosm, a small world when you focus on it. I painted it larger than life on the canvas, like a whole universe. This piece is on gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Kira

Kira Yustak paints fantastical scenes that come from her childhood memories, dreams, and the natural world. Each piece feels like part of a larger narrative of an alternative reality, rendered in a style she describes as comic realism. She feels art must trigger something inside the viewer’s soul.Kira currently lives in New Jersey and finds inspiration in the work of Lowbrow, Folk, and Surrealist artists.
