Modern abstract diptych created in vivid orange, brown and cream hues. Multiple layers of acrylic paint give this piece depth and luscious textures. It is part of a series called "GeoStrata", a collection of non-representational compositions mixing geometric and organic elements.

This painting is on a cradled wood panel with finished black edges. It comes varnished and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Lisa

Lisa Carney draws her inspiration from the earth’s layers and the history they hold. The drips, splashes, scrapes and scratches in her art happen spontaneously and come together to create a cohesive whole. She began to craft a more organic feel in her works after noticing the texture in her works resembled plant roots. She currently lives in Canada and admires artists like Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Barnett Newman.
