I spent a week in New Mexico this Fall, and the purpose of my time there was to nurture my creative spirit.  I spent seven days freely painting whatever came to mind.  One of the most profound things I discovered during my time in New Mexico was my “marks."  Hence the naming of these first four landscapes since returning to my studio - Landmark 1, 2, 3 and 4.  They are landscapes in which I have incorporated these expressive marks (done using a liner brush).

Getting to Know Jenn

Jenn Williamson expertly evokes the scenery of British Columbia in her soft abstract landscapes. She utilizes defining horizontal and vertical strokes, coupled with a skillful handling of color, to create significant depth in each piece. Her paintings, though abstracted, clearly convey the atmospheric attributes of the scene–rain, wind, clouds, fog. Jenn’s muted color palette transports the viewer to the Canadian west coast, as if to be standing before the marshlands and ocean right alongside the artist.
