The playful, expressionist portraits of Paulina Archambault are inspired by her girlhood. She was creative her entire childhood, and there is a delightfully naive quality retained in her current work. Paulina begins each painting directly on canvas, typically without a plan. Using knives, brushes, and acrylic paint, she develops each piece by adding then changing forms until the work feels finished. Paulina believes her artwork does not require a complex backstory. “If somebody is not moved by my art, then it won't help if I explain anything,” says Paulina. “Visual art should touch a person like lightning.”

Love the piece! It is very raw, honest and grabs your attention. I like Paulina’s style and all her portraits. This work is the 40th original painting hanging in our home.- B Rohde
I feel like this painting belongs in an art gallery, but I get to have it in my own home! I am so impressed with the artist's vision and expertise.- Juliana
