A lonely girl sits on the stairs in a basement, making direct eye contact with the viewer. She is accompanied by scattered toys that draw attention up to the landing. The warm glow emanating from upstairs serves to offset the melancholy tone, giving the scene a fairytale-like hope.
Krzysztof Iwin is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. His body of work is largely figurative with elements of surrealism. Showing frozen fragments of a reality that does not exist, Krzysztof attempts to capture the menacing, sometimes macabre beauty of the search for meaning.
