A landscape version of paintings that are part of my "Cities in Color" series. This is one of my favorites. I love the contrast between lights and darks and the boldness of the blues in the piece. The markings are somewhat delicate throughout only to enhance and bring the rest of the painting together.
Jeffrey Tover is an abstract artist based in the Bay Area who creates paintings that are colorful, multilayered, and gestural. The haphazardness of the marks in his compositions engage the viewer’s eye as it moves through every inch of the canvas. His work is greatly influenced by expressionist painters Cy Twombly, Joan Mitchell and Willem de Kooning, and shares similar gestural qualities to their work. Through his art, Jeffrey strives to achieve uniqueness in each painting; every piece takes on its own individual persona and influences his viewers in different ways.
