In the style of primitivism, artist Carolyn Pennor displays a rustic portrait of a goat. She paints it in bold profile with spotted black and white fur. Solid colors layer the composition with different consistencies achieved through a variety of brushes. The playful piece exudes a distinct calmness with the simple pastoral ambiance.

Carolyn’s subjects are inspired by everyday working people. Her aesthetic straddles the line between modern and folk, utilizing warm tones and simplified forms. The subjects in Carolyn’s paintings each tell a story. “When painting my characters I feel as though I have known them,” she says. After years of working in a banking environment, Carolyn is pleased to have transitioned to a more creative lifestyle. She now shares a studio with her husband, a fellow UGallery artist, and enjoys exercising her imagination and creativity.

Dear K Sommer I am so sorry that I am responding so late to your question. I have been having a problem with my computer. The final coating is a clear protective acrylic varnish. Thank you very much for purchasing one of my favorite paintings. Carolyn

Hello, Carolyn - I love your Moon Cow painting. I'm wondering if the edges are painted/wrapped and why the painting is "varnished"? Thank you very much!
