About this artwork

A swirling mist of gold and gray unfurl in this dramatic abstract by artist Leslie Ann Butler. As part of her Light and Silence series, Leslie takes inspiration from Falcon Cove on the Oregon Coast. Her process involves taking numerous photographs before working on these references in her Portland studio. The interpretations involve the moodiness of the ocean in the winter at different times, on different days, says Leslie.
