An expansive landscape that exudes peace, tranquility and beauty. Soft shimmers of subtle metallic paint flow through the painting giving it a luxurious presence. The third piece in a new series. When Jenn Williamson paints, she doesn't use any reference material other than what happens on the canvas once she starts working. She chooses her colors intuitively and adds to her palette as the painting progresses. "When starting a new painting, I use large brushes and I try not to overthink or overwork anything," Jenn says.

Getting to Know Jenn

Jenn Williamson expertly evokes the scenery of British Columbia in her soft abstract landscapes. She utilizes defining horizontal and vertical strokes, coupled with a skillful handling of color, to create significant depth in each piece. Her paintings, though abstracted, clearly convey the atmospheric attributes of the scene–rain, wind, clouds, fog. Jenn’s muted color palette transports the viewer to the Canadian west coast, as if to be standing before the marshlands and ocean right alongside the artist.
