About this artwork

Fall in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains is bold with brilliant yellows of the aspens, says artist Heather Foster. These aspen trees are fascinating - they are all connected by an extensive root system, technically one organism. Once again connectivity enters into my paintings. Looking at what is seemingly separate on the surface, yet underneath, united. The trees in the foreground are bold and break up the image with strong vertical lines and in the distance blending together. Yet, we know the stand in the foreground is connected.
