This painting is an expression of my personal identity as a mother. I carry visceral memory of sensation, feelings and thoughts, during my pregnancies, when my body became the home for living breathing beings; a responsibility and an honor. It began like many of my pieces, as an abstract painting filled with color. When the bodies showed up they became my focus... not unlike parenthood.
