This piece was finished on Easter Sunday, but there was no intended relation to the day.  I was attempting to integrate and juxtapose curved and straight elements as well as contrast transparent, opaque, and visually textured elements. This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Gary

Gary Jenkins is an American abstract artist currently living and working in Japan. His bright, cheery color palette and bold compositions together result in enticingly vibrant paintings. Gary uses transfer techniques to layer colors and forms to establish visual motion and texture, even if the painting’s surface is smooth. The combination of organic and geometric shapes create dynamic depth, leading the eye through endlessly pleasing compositions.
