Artwork

Artist Jason Astorquia demonstrates an abstract display of the Earth. Cool earthy greens merge with milky white, a suggestion of darker hues and kisses of red that speak of an aching plea to remember life beating in the depths of where we step. The resulting turquoise hue of linear dimensions expresses an intense palpable energy. Jason builds layer upon layer of texture on linear planes to reveal the colors and dimensions of internal awareness blending with the surfaces of the external space we occupy.

Jason Astorquia

Bellingham, Washington

Conceptually nuanced dimensions map out artist Jason Astorquia’s otherworldly abstractions. He paints organized assemblies that articulate his visionary perspective in multiple layers, each leaving profound depths. Initially trained in applied mathematics at Yale University, Jason found himself seeking his own truth by pursuing creative endeavors, leading him to delve into his artistic inclinations with curiosity and wonder. His process follows a creative impulse, an explosion pushing, through exchanges with etheric whispers, to resolve competing inner tensions towards the balance of the whole. “I trust in the intuition that a feeling is captured - a dip into the otherworldly realms, or the past and present dissolving into one, a scream frozen in glass, the hush of a rampaging fire, or a drop of vivid life thawing from the stillness," says Jason. Numerous galleries have featured his work around the United States, from Seattle, Boston, and San Francisco, all the way to Hawaii. As a family man, Jason also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, hiking, writing, and exploring ideas that tune him into living more sustainably.
