There are 10+ layers of acrylic paint, washes and glazes that together give the piece depth and interest. I travel through the Sacramento Delta often and this has the feel of the area. This is a companion piece to "Shallow Water" but can stand alone.

This abstract landscape is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Karen

Karen Hale has been a professional artist for over 45 years. Her father was a commercial artist and furniture maker who encouraged her creativity at an early age. Once married, she began to make and sell crafts to help put her husband through college. A temporary job led to a fulfilling lifetime profession. Karen developed a fascination with materials and has worked in many different media throughout her career, including textiles, jewelry, collage, and photography. She now focuses on creating dynamic mixed media paintings. Her style presents varying degrees of abstraction. The discerning viewer can decipher a blurred flower or a hazy horizon line while meditating on Karen’s soothing color palette.
