“Divergent Boundaries” are the fissures that are created between tectonics plates as they move apart. These spaces that are created are then filled with hot magma. As the magma cools, new land masses are created. It’s the amazing and ever changing Earth. This is a triptych. With a 2” space between the pieces, the overall size is 48 x 76 x 2”.

Getting to Know Karen

Karen’s abstract paintings are best described as an exploration in color. Often monochromatic, her work is a meditative and serene improvisation in the movement and depth of paint. Whether executed in earthy shades or vibrant tones, each painting evokes a different mood for the viewer’s contemplation. Karen’s body of work gives a gentle nod to the Color Field movement of the 20th Century, grounding her portfolio solidly within the evolving story of contemporary art.
