This painting is about shades of blue relating in harmony. Blue skies and blue water set the mood. The mystery of who resides on the shore plays with our inquisitive nature. Perhaps it is us who resides there. This piece is on gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Robert

After painting for years out of the family room of his home, Robert took the plunge and built an addition to his home for proper studio space. He works in two very different styles, producing both color-blocked abstracts and realist landscapes. Robert begins each painting by creating a thumbnail value sketch to establish a composition. Each piece reflects his mood, but whether energetic or placid, the colors must always be harmonious. Robert’s technique uses mostly brushes with the occasional addition of palette knives to create subtle surface texture.
