Krzysztof describes this painting as a genre scene of autumn potato digging in a field. A group of women, from young to old, diligently harvests their crop. In the distance, a tractor piled high with potatoes. A cat looks on with interest at this seemingly strange activity. The painting might also be read as a passage of time.
Krzysztof Iwin is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. His body of work is largely figurative with elements of surrealism. Showing frozen fragments of a reality that does not exist, Krzysztof attempts to capture the menacing, sometimes macabre beauty of the search for meaning.
