I have an ongoing fascination with the role of crows in Native American cultures because it is a very powerful totem and the crow symbolizes wisdom. The colors in this piece also have meaning in Native American cultures: purple is a sacred color, symbolizing magic, mystery and power; red symbolizes faith and happiness; and orange symbolizes intellect and determination. I loved the concept of using colors in this piece to help me convey the crow's great spiritual and cultural significance.
