This painting is inspired by a day trip to the forest surrounding the Arbuckle Mountains in south-central Oklahoma. The Arbuckle Mountains are old--old like when primordial ooze was an apex predator. When it's foggy, as it was on this particular day, I imagine the world newly created and waiting for man to be created. This piece is on a gallery wrapped canvas and the painting continues around the sides. The work comes varnished and ready to hang.

Getting to Know Patricia

Patricia Freeman lives in Oklahoma City with her husband. When asked why she paints, Patricia replied, "I paint because I have to." The process, peeling the plastic off a new canvas to smelling the paint, lifts her to a state of pure joy.
