Artwork
The bold black statements in this piece contrast with the delicate toned down colors. When you look at the painting, the positive lighter colored areas become negative as the black becomes the positive. This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished edges. It comes varnished and ready to hang.
Robert Pennor
Bolingbrook, Illinois
After painting for years out of the family room of his home, Robert took the plunge and built an addition to his home for proper studio space. He works in two very different styles, producing both color-blocked abstracts and realist landscapes. Robert begins each painting by creating a thumbnail value sketch to establish a composition. Each piece reflects his mood, but whether energetic or placid, the colors must always be harmonious. Robert’s technique uses mostly brushes with the occasional addition of palette knives to create subtle surface texture.
