Line and color can live both harmoniously and in total disregard of one another. The canvas surface continually delights the eye with scars and textures that can either embrace or contradict the line and color applied to it.

This painting is on a gallery wrapped canvas and comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know Allen

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Allen Wittert began illustrating at an early age. While still in high school, he worked as a freelance storyboard artist and cartoonist for Ogilvy Mather in Johannesburg and, subsequently, other top agencies during school breaks. He creates work with surprising patterns of color that come together in dynamic combinations and compositions. Allen finds inspiration in a diverse array of local sights, still life displays, and women. He says, "I am attracted to the rough and ready in content, application, and the picture surface."
