Part of a series of small scale works illustrating the birds near Sally's home. In this piece, she used a highly textured surface to build the nostalgic feeling of the scene. "This fuzzy little bluebird seemed happy spring had arrived," says Sally.
Shelby Township, Michigan
Sally Adams recalls the moment she became a painter at the age of four; her love for art is innate and lifelong. Her intention is to extract beauty from everyday life. The advice of an art teacher, “less is more,” is one of Sally’s guiding principles. Her artwork brims with intimate simplicity and childlike joy. She enjoys simplifying and sweetening compositions from nature, such as trees and birds, painting only the core components necessary to convey an emotional connection. Sally has three grown daughters who are all active artists, and they work together whenever possible. “I taught them the joy of creating art when they were young,” says Sally, “and they taught me to do what I love for a living, by their own example, in adulthood.”

The mood and feel of it came across just as enjoyably in reality as online (that does not always happen)! This piece of artwork makes me feel good and I am confident it will hang on my walls forever. I love your aesthetic.- S Standridge
