Abstract #6 is from a series of 24 paintings that I completed in early 2017.  The work is about minimalism and true abstract sense. My objective was to place geometric shapes in colorful negative space and leave the viewer to form their own perspective.  As an abstract minimalist artist, I am at home in this same environment personally, large minimal spaces with a small but significant object in its presence. This painting is on gallery wrapped canvas with white edges. It comes ready to hang.

Getting to Know John

John is an abstract painter who comes from a tech background. It was a serious car accident that caused him to reevaluate his passions and dedicate his time to making art. He draws inspiration from a variety of sources; visual artists such as Mark Rothko, musicians including Bjork, and legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick serve as creative muses for John. Aesthetically, he considers himself a minimalist. “Being a minimalist is likely harder than anything, as I want to convey my idea with as little as possible,” says John.
