I am a full time artist (originally from Nepal) living in the San Francisco Bay area. I have been painting for over 37 years. I paint in my art studio on the outskirts of Santa Rosa in a country setting. I am a traditional painter in a sense that I take my subjects from life and memory. They are never abstract even when they may appear so. I find it uncomfortable when I have to define my paintings as abstract, realistic, figurative, landscape or one of the accepted terms in the art world. Also, I don't feel a need to be limited to one so-called 'style' and 'look.' I am a complex person in a sense that I am a product of many cultures and places. To me, concept is more important than look or style. I want to be able to use any medium or style as long as it help me convey or achieve what I am looking for.
