J Kaplan- Thanks so much for the compliments. The story goes that I was taking pictures in the frigid winter of Michigan. I was about ready to pack it up, when this beautiful, proud Cardinal perched itself not more than 10 feet from me. I got a quick picture and started to sketch him, when he flew off. I raced inside with the image in my camera and in my head and poured it out in watercolor. It was like he quickly commissioned me :) Thanks again for your kind words. Take care.

I really like The Winter Bird. The background is delicate behind the strong, sharp bird. The bird also seems a bit whimsical to me. Like he commissioned you to paint him. I especially like intensity in his eye… it seems more piercing than usual. Is there a story behind it? Thank you.

LBelle- Thank you so much for your kind comments! Yeah, my style has always been directly influenced by art nouveau. I'm glad you enjoy the "Still Life with Fruit," as that is one of my favorites as well. I will be periodically putting new pieces up in this style within the next few months so keep an eye out. Chris, your portfolio is a beautiful collection. Art nouveau is one of my favorite genres, and your work reminds me of that style. I particularly enjoy "Still Life with Fruit" as it has whimsical lines with a realistic impression. I would love to see more. Thank you!
