I was asked by a client what was the one book I would recommend for someone just starting paint. My immediate response was nothing... learn by doing, screwing up, succeeding, etc... But she wanted a book, so I told her start with Robert Henri's "The Art Spirit".

When I paint the skies I try to spend no spend more than 30 seconds to keep the fresh, pure colors

Thank you... the great thing about painting in New Mexico is the light, color of the sky and the forms.

I love the way your paintings look as a whole, but I especially admire your facility with painting light (and shadows) and depicting wonderfully textured skies.

I love this watercolor. It reminds me of the peacefulness of winter. It is currently being framed, but I cannot wait to hang it in my home.

I had some pleasant news this morning. Back in November I responded to a "call ...for artists" seeking images for the local phone book. I didn't hear anything and soon forgot all about it. I received an email this morning and one of my pieces (San Miguel)will be the cover and two more (one of those is Canyon Road In June)will be in the gallery collection. No money, but great free publicity.
