Looking ahead to the Group 3759 reunion show, maybe as early as this fall! As a member of Group 3759, a collective of four Denver figurative painters, I have been working hard on proposals for group shows around Denver at established galleries. Keep your fingers crossed for me! 2011 is going to be a big year.

Right now I'm reading 2012: Return of Quetzalcoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck. Very interesting! I'm beginning some new pieces that explore the beauty of crop circles because of the inspiration found in this book.

-formed into smoke stacks, all exploiting humanity and Earth for one type of power (obedience) or another (fuel). The center of the painting is flanked by a palm print recalling cave art and a test tube with the double helix of DNA, both symbols of human identity and the striving to understand it. This is our quest for spirituality interrupted by corrupt religions backing power hungry factions. Just to the left of the test tube is a subtle hummingbird drinking from a blossom, a reminder of the delicately interwoven specificity of life. The eye of C'thulu, a fictional, evil, sqid-headed god from the Necronomicon (H.P Lovecraft), peers through the smoke, awaiting humanity's demise. This and the hummingbird are being watched intently by the ubiquitous face of God, crowned by the symbol of infinity, which is emerging from a now polluted atmosphere seeming to be folding up like a scroll. Across the top of the painting are the creator's computer menu options, with a B-2 bomber cursor poised

Sure. Let's start at the base of the painting where an arc representing the curvature of the Earth spans the distance. This is the round belly of Mother Earth, and above the horizon, in the center is a discreet indication of a fleshy breast and young pink nipple. Our natural humanity at our core is being ignored, and it deprives people of a spirital connection to the greater picture of existence. The process of forgetting our natural selves is aided by technology, whether for the sake of comfort, convenience or entertainment. Earth's belly is hooked up to pipes and tubes and implanted with a giant microchip whil a space shuttle launches off at the right side of the canvas. Toward the center of the painting are human structures that could be mistaken for either power-plants or religious buildings. A nuclear rector with an iwan shaped entrance, a majib (mosque) alight with a flame of natural gas burn off like what is seen at oil refineries and above left the three Christian crosses trans

Hi Veronica,
I like your work. I have a question about your piece called, "Our Fortress is Burning". It means that it 'explores the destruction of spirituality through the reliance on technology'. Can you talk more about how that is reflected in the painting?
Thanks.
