Sally Adams
Shelby Township, Michigan

Sally Adams received a set of oil paints for Christmas when she was 15 years old and has loved art ever since. You can always find her with a camera strapped around her neck, as most of her art is inspired by photos she takes in her daily routine. Her intention is to extract simple beauty from what surrounds us. Although her instinct is to always add more detail, the advice from an art teacher that “less is more” rings in her ears. The result is art that appears intimate, serene, and hazy from a distance, but is intricate and deliberate up close. Sally’s studio companion, Pickledog, keeps her company as she works. “He gets me up and going every morning, reminding me that a good breakfast and daily walk with Mother Nature are essential for raising endorphins and clearing the mind to create."
