The first truly fine art painting I ever created was based around circles. Since that 5 some years ago, circles have appeared in all of my artwork again and again. Circles, along with my Birdman character, are definitely two of my greatest trademarks as a professional artist. I have recently completed a series of printmaking works dealing with circles, mainly monoprints, and I will be posting them shortly to be open for sale. Keep your eyes peeled.

Went to Detroit, Michigan a few weeks ago to see "In Your Dreams: 500 Years of Printmaking" in which two of my works are displayed. Most amazing printmaking art show I have ever seen in my life. Picasso, Miro, Chagall, Goya, Piranesi, Blake, Dali, M.C. Escher, etc. Just amazing.

Art accomplishments this year have been skyrocketing. Just starting the fifth month of the year and already, without a doubt, my most successful year as an artist ever. I've had artwork shown in galleries across the country as well as having my printmaking work accepted into permanent collections of several galleries and museums including the Detroit Institute of Arts (a top five museum in the country) the Museum of Modern Art in Wales as well as the Hambis Printmaking Museum in Cyprus and (maybe) the Kyoto Museum, in Kyoto, Japan.

PRINTMAKING

Printmaking is the process of making artworks by printing, normally on paper. Except in the case of monotyping—a process that yields only one print--the printmaking process is capable of producing multiples of the same piece. Each piece produced is an original since it is not a reproduction of another work of art and is technically known as an 'impression'. There are many different printmaking techniques, all of which yield a unique aesthetic.

STRETCHED CANVAS
Canvas is a heavy-duty fabric used as a painting surface. When a canvas artwork is labeled stretched, it means the canvas has been wrapped around a wooden frame (the ''stretcher''). Stretched canvases typically do not require framing.

LIMITED EDITION OF 1

Certain pieces of artwork on UGallery, mostly photography and printmaking, are labeled as either limited edition or open edition. Pieces that are in a limited edition are produced in a set limited quantity. Open edition artworks are not limited in quantity and can be reproduced indefinitely. In both cases, each piece in the edition is identical and is considered an original. Limited edition works are generally more valuable because of the limited number available. A new piece from the serigraph/silkscreen series. For the first time, printed on canvas (which to my surprise, was considerably different!) This piece was created using a lightened hue of red first then with some layers of white while the ink was still wet. When the ink dried the red layer(s) were added. This is the largest of these prints I have made so far at 36" x 24" and as most of the others is limited to only a single piece. It is signed, numbered and titled on the front in ink.
