notes: I make a lot of ice cream, which means I often experiment with new flavors. Some turn out better than others... As it transpires, star anise in this quantity is overwhelmingly potent for 1.5 quarts of ice cream. Still, there is something about these vivid umber stars, floating in custard cream.
