I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show. -- Andrew Wyeth
This Andrew Wyeth quote captures the mood perfectly. In Gregg Otteson's photo, fittingly titled Rest, brittle frames and icy glass panes stare back at us. Underneath the calm forms something's brewing, awaiting the turn of the seasons.
Of the photo, Gregg says "Lines always grab my attention. Vanishing points, rectangles, squares enveloped in glass and frames - it was hard not to stop [to take a picture]." This collection of windows sits outside a landmark "junk" shop in Gregg's area of northern Minnesota, bearing the area's mix of frigid winters and sweltering summers.
