This Polaroid photograph was hand-manipulated on site in a field near Santa Cruz, California. No digital manipulation was used to achieve this effect. The old Polaroid SX70 film had a defect in the sense that the emulsion was slightly malleable, allowing me to apply precise pressure with a toothpick or stylus to gently stretch and pull the image. Each image takes about an hour to work.
