My most recent series of street portraits and candid shots comes from northern Ecuador. The Andes Mountains have always had a special magic to me; I enjoy spending time amongst its people, and am happy to share that with you. Ecuador in particular seems to have one foot in both the modern world, and that of its ancestors some thousand years old. Made up of a population with primarily indigenous roots, weekend markets are still full of traditional goods being bought by citizens in traditional native dress. The difference is that some of those citizens then drive home in brand new SUVs. Still, at least to me, nothing warms the soul quite like an Andean smile, which I'm happy to offer to you with this newest series, a snapshot into the daily lives of a very special group of people. Thanks, Mike.
