notes:

Griffith Observatory's unique architecture, setting, and cinematic exposure have made it one of the most famous and visited landmarks in southern California. 3,015 acres (12.20 km2) of land surrounding the observatory was donated to the City of Los Angeles by Col. Griffith J. Griffith on December 16, 1896. The building of the observatory begun in 1933 and was finished in 1935. Many famous movies have been shot there including Rebel Without a Cause, Terminator and Transformers to name a few. This photograph was shot on 4x5 inch film (10 second exposure) on a clear night with no moon. On the print you can see the space station pass through the sky as well as the stars in the sky that night.
