notes:
I have always loved Greek mythology and history paintings, not to mention Theodore Gericault's The Raft of the Medusa. This painting refers to the beauty and wrath of nature, as seen by Gericault and several other master painters. These artists are excellent teachers for me now that I am out of school and finding my own way. I have appropriated imagery and technique for this piece from Edgar Degas, Frida Kahlo, and Mark Ryden, among others.
