This piece is part of a series of three paintings. They incorporate the abstract layering style I have been working in over the past few years and imagery from Raphael's "Transfiguration" as well as found images. Each piece is made by layering thin layers of paint on top of each other until a vibrant, translucent image with varying values is created. This painting is extremely arduous because it must be completely dry before the next layer is applied, and a single piece can contain between twenty and thirty layers. This one in particular took eight months to complete. This painting comes ready to hang with clean edges and a wire in the back. A frame is not necessary.
