OIL PAINTING
Oil paint is a type of slow-drying paint that consists of particles of pigment suspended in a drying oil, commonly linseed oil. The viscosity of the paint is often modified by a solvent such as turpentine or white spirit, and varnish may be added to increase the glossiness of the dried film. In this painting, I was playing with the spatial relationship of red vs. turquoise. The overlapping of these colors, with the warm being the background and cool in the foreground, confuses the eye. This confusion creates a visual vibrancy as the colors shift back and forth.
