Comments About This Piece
In 1962, Ferrari built a limited run of forty international racing cars that they called GTO's, which stood for "Gran Turismo Omologato," the english translation of which is "Grand Touring Homologated." In 1964, Pontiac came out with a car they called a GTO. Controversy over the name theft continues today. Jokesters of the time claimed that GTO stood for "Gas, Tires, and Oil," which both models used a lot of. Fans and owners of the Pontiac GTO proudly call their favorite car a "Goat" and label their meetings as a "Gathering of the Goats."
This painting is made of oil and acrylic paint on a gallery wrapped canvas with finished black edges. It comes varnished and wired to hang.
Mixed media artwork
Mixed media refers to an artwork that is created using several different types of traditional art media, for example oil paint, ink and collage. The specific media used for each mixed media piece on UGallery is listed in the notes section.
Canvas is a heavy-duty fabric used as a painting surface. When a canvas artwork is labeled stretched, it means the canvas has been wrapped around a wooden frame (the ''stretcher''). Stretched canvases typically do not require framing.
A one-of-a-kind artwork is a unique piece handmade by the artist. There is only one in existence. The work may be part of a series, however, the piece itself is unlike any other. This piece is available exclusively at UGallery.
